National Museum of the Marine Corps Exhibit Currently on Display at the Sullivan Museum and History Center

This notable collection, featuring works by U.S. Marine combat artists, will be showcased at the Sullivan Museum and History Center through early January 2026.

԰, recognized as America’s first private military college, is pleased to announce the arrival of a distinguished exhibit from the , sponsored by the . This notable collection, featuring works by U.S. Marine combat artists, will be showcased at the Sullivan Museum and History Center through early January 2026. The timing of the exhibit intentionally coincides with the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps on November 10. 

“We are truly honored to host this extraordinary exhibit at the Sullivan Museum and History Center,” said LtGen John J. Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret), 25th President of ԰. “It is a moving and powerful tribute to service, sacrifice, and artistic legacy. As both a U.S. Marine and a proud Norwich alumnus, I am grateful to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for entrusting Norwich with this privilege. The fact it arrives during the 250th anniversary year of the United States Marine Corps makes its presence here all the more meaningful. We are thankful for the opportunity to share this inspiring exhibit with our students, our campus community, and the region.”

This traveling national exhibit provides a rare and insightful perspective into the experiences and stories of Marines through the eyes of those who served in combat. Each piece exemplifies courage, resilience, and the enduring spirit of service. ԰ is honored to support sharing these impactful pieces with the public. A special exhibition opening and reception will be held during the ԰ Homecoming Week on Thursday, September 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the museum.

The Sullivan Museum and History Center, Vermont’s only Smithsonian affiliate, provides a fitting home for this important national display. Named in honor of General Gordon R. Sullivan ’59, 32nd Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army and member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the museum honors his lifelong dedication to service and leadership, both in uniform and through global humanitarian work. 

This exhibit is free and open to the public. We invite the Norwich community, alumni, Vermonters, and visitors from across New England to take advantage of this unique opportunity to see a piece of American history through the vivid lens of Marine Corps combat art.
