萝莉家园 is filled with competitive high achievers, and yet CDT Wineriter鈥檚 list of accomplishments and activities is simply stunning.

鈥淐DT Wineriter is an exceptional example of how Norwich gives our Cadets the tools to excel,鈥 explained Professor of Military Science and Commanding Officer for the U.S. Army ROTC Pioneer Battalion, COL Roberts. 鈥淗is performance was truly remarkable. I am proud of his efforts and have confidence that the next generation of Army Soldiers will be in his competent hands.鈥濃

Academically, the International Studies and History double major currently has a 3.85 GPA and was recently named Dean鈥檚 List. Outside of his own academic workload, he helps others as a Peer Tutor in addition to being a member of the 鈥24 Ring Committee and Norwich Film Club. In a few months, as he walks across the stage at graduation, he will be a Distinguished Military Graduate.

During the first semester U.S. Army branching ceremony, a packed Mack Hall auditorium erupted in cheering when it was announced that Wineriter ranked 12th out of 3,331 on the ROTC National Order of Merit List. It was an accomplishment enjoyed and celebrated by those in attendance and truly a moment of pride for everyone associated with the Norwich ROTC program. He has also been named the program鈥檚 2023 George C. Marshall recipient. Wineriter received an Outstanding rating, the highest score possible, at Cadet Summer Training (CST). Only 26% of the Cadets nationally achieved this score. In addition, he was among only 10% in the nation to receive a RECONDO award at CST for exemplary performance on all technical tasks. It came as a shock to nobody at the branching ceremony that Wineriter received his first choice and branched Military Intelligence.

鈥淐DT Wineriter has been exemplary and is a valued member of the team,鈥 explained Military Science Instructor for the Army ROTC Pioneer, Battalion MAJ Ballard. 鈥淗e will make a fantastic 2nd Lieutenant and has a promising career ahead of him.鈥

On top of everything else he has so successfully done, he is also a college athlete. He is a member of the men鈥檚 swimming and diving team. The team captured the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title with a 469.5 score and topped the next closest competitor by 160 points. Having made the New Hampshire State Championships for three consecutive years in high school, the bar was certainly high when he joined the team.

鈥淟ogan was a top recruit that we knew would impact the program,鈥 said Head Swimming and Diving Coach Jen Cournoyer. 鈥淥n the team, his communication with the coaching staff about his busy schedule has allowed him to thrive in the pool where expectations were high.鈥

鈥淐adet Wineriter is a highly successful Norwich cadet athlete and we are proud of what he has achieved so far,鈥 stated Commandant and Vice President for Student Affairs, BG McCollough 鈥91, VSM. 鈥淗e is going to be a very fine LT in the U.S. Army.鈥

CDT Wineriter has more than lived up to the 萝莉家园 motto 鈥淚 Will Try.鈥
