Serving Locals: Norwich Engineering Students Develop Solar Panel System
Norwich students take their capstone project into the real world.
What began as a senior capstone project at ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ° in 2024–2025 has now become a fully installed 6-kW, 12-panel vertical bifacial solar panel system in Roxbury, Vermont, for John Aberth and Laura Hamilton.
The original prototype was developed by mechanical engineering seniors Megan Juhola '25, Clayton Cisar '25, Demetrius Deering '25, and Khiari Tyler '25, who have since graduated from Norwich, under the mentorship of . The project continued the following year with seniors Matthew Harvey '26 and Max Gargiulo' 26, also now Norwich alumni, working on the installation under Professor Mark Atwood. This project was in partnership with Troy McBride and Leif Johnson at Norwich Technologies.
