ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ°

The exercise was sponsored by the DoD Norwich Cyber Institute. During the exercise, participants engaged in hands-on training and collaborated with experts in Information Advantage and Information Warfare (IA/IW). They explored key topics such as propaganda, cybersecurity threats, deepfakes, disinformation, and information advantage. Participants developed and refined various IA/IW strategies through a simulated team environment. The IWE showcased the latest advancements in IA/IW, integrating state-of-the-art technology with current concepts and knowledge.
 

On August 2, ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ°'s new President, LtGen Broadmeadow '83, USMC (Ret.), Norwich Center for Peace & War Studies, Director Dr. Travis Morris, and NUARI President Phil Susmann jointly attended the final briefings of the exercise. President Broadmeadow had a distinguished military career, culminating in his role as Director of the Marine Corps Staff (DMCS). Previously, he served as Deputy Commander of the United States Transportation Command. A 1983 graduate of ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ°, LtGen Broadmeadow was commissioned into the Marine Corps and later served on the university's board of trustees. In April 2024, he assumed the presidency of ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ°, becoming its 25th president.
 

During the final briefing, each team outlined their IW operational plan and the IW cyber tactics created for the project.
 

ÂÜÀò¼ÒÔ°, a pioneer in incorporating cybersecurity into undergraduate curricula, is now at the forefront of Information Warfare (IW) education, hands-on experiences, and research alongside NUARI. To further enhance student engagement in the information environment, additional applied research projects are being developed. As countering malign influence becomes increasingly crucial across defense, intelligence, and foreign policy sectors, this internship provided students with a valuable interdisciplinary learning experience, and their contributions were greatly appreciated.

This Information Warfare Exercise (IWE) embodies and extends this shared vision.
